Aloha Dudes and Dudettes,
I can’t believe that summer has come and is already halfway done. Every year it seems to grow shorter and shorter, or perhaps we just take the most of what we can get and it flies by (glass half empty or half full??)
I know I have been trying to take full advantage of my fun in the sun: pooltime, beaches, getaways, family time and reading like there’s no tomorrow. Books, books and more books!
Who does love that summer beach read? (If you don’t then don’t answer that ;] ) What’s your criteria for a “beach read”? Fluff? Romance? Undeveloped characters? ACTION? What if you could be the next great author of beach reads? Everyone loves your books. What would you write about, how would you start it? Would there be tragedy? Second chances?
I put it to you to have fun with a little writing this summer instead of reading, and try to write a “beach read” that would interest you instead of buying one. Where does it lead you. You never know this fun prompt may propel other ideas and start flowering new ideas for stories and plots.
I will do this exercise too and post what I came up with next time. Don’t tease me with what I write! I’ll be vacationing for my birthday this weekend, so till I write again
