It doesn’t matter if you want to know, it’s forbidden.

Viewing Room…What can I say about this book?
I only finished it last night, and it managed to be one of the first books I was able to finish after being in such a book funk the last couple weeks. Point to Gryffindor right there. I loved it. It was romantic, sexy, and angsty, but not in the way you would imagine. Another point to Gryffindor (aka the authors) But while I loved it, I was also a bit confused. So, I’m going to break convention and start with what put me off to get it out in the open before moving into the good, the great and the amazing!
We’ve all seen it: the rules of Society X.
Well for something that seemed so prominent in all the teasers and on the cover, in the blurb, this book completely disregarded them–and I mean completely. No one was anonymous in Society X. They all used names–not even fake names but their own–and on top of that they discussed themselves as well, the main characters, the employees of the club, the patrons, it seemed the whole thing was about breaking the rules rather than following them. But like I said before I was more confused about that fact than anything. After all…Rules are meant to be broken, are they not?
As for the rest of the story…*dreamy sigh.* Are there any more Hunter’s in the world? The story really does focus more on the 2 main characters, Hunter and Kennedy. Hunter is a law student paying his way through school by working at Society X and Kennedy is recently divorced lawyer, they meet at the club. Hunter I truly loved. He was a well-fleshed out character, and for the most part so was Kennedy. But there was one incongruity about Kennedy that didn’t add up: her family. Other than that though I loved her as well, they were both strong characters, and while they made mistakes they were so flippant about making promises like “I’ll love you forever” or “I’ll never leave” or to hightail it when the going gets rough. Both were mature and talked things through before any action was taken. and for that I give beaucoup points to Gryffindor! *mini-rant* I mean how hard is it to talk to the other person when you hear or see something that may not be right, when it breaks your heart? There are always more than one side to things. *end mini-rant*
Sorry folks, got carried away. To be honest this book had very thriller-type qualities that I loved. It was still a romance, and an erotic one at that, but definitely thriller. The romance and sexy got me into the book but the climatic Conan-Doyle-esque what will happen next kept me glued to the pages until the end.
Of course we also know I love my characters and there were so many extras who seemed like great character but unfortunately we didn’t get to see much of or get to know, its like they were magic popping in out of nowhere to do what was needed before they disappeared from sight and mind once more.
On one last note: the Viewing Room. It is the title of the book and in a way the focus, yet I feel I don’t understand it completely. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, but why is it a “viewing room” if sometimes no one is viewing the activities? It’s public or private depending on it’s user. Exactly what type(s) of activities happen in there? All mentions of it were quick and somewhat ambiguous, seeming to want to move on from that vein of thought.
The Viewing Room…for your pleasure, And yet it is outside of the room that the best fun occurred. 🙂

Tomorrow comes awfully fast and the day flies by. Maybe it’s because I’m not exactly thrilled about watching people have sex all by myself. It makes me wonder what kind of things people ask to see when they have requests. All I can say is that I feel like a creeper.
Chris walks into my office and stops when he gets a good look at my face. “Whoa, why are you so red?”
Glancing at the clock, I sigh. “Because in a couple of hours, I have to watch three people have sex in the viewing room.” He knows that I’m doing my own investigative work, but I never told him exactly what I’m doing until now.
He bursts out laughing. “Are you serious? What if it’s not the guy you’re looking for?”
I shrug. “Then I guess I’ll be watching these people have sex.”
“This is classic. I was going to ask you to go to dinner with me, but you’ll be too busy.”
I roll my eyes. “Ha-ha. I’d much rather be getting some dinner. I think I’m just going to stay here until it’s time to go.”
He tries to hide his smile and fails. “Have fun with that. You’ll have to let me know how it went in the morning.” He chuckles the entire time he walks to his office and then out the front door. I’ll never be able to escape him now; he’ll make fun of me for the rest of our lives.
Once everyone leaves, I eat the rest of my turkey sandwich I had left over from lunch while I look over my notes on Chad Bates. Jennifer never texted to tell me if he was going to be at the club or not, so I guess I’ll just have to find out when I get there. I wonder if Hunter’s ever done something like that … had sex with two girls on stage in front of an audience. That’s one of the reasons why I can never get serious about him. How can I when he does that for a living?
My time is running out so I close up the office and head to the club. The parking lot is packed, but I slip on my necklace and get out of the car. I try to ignore the evil looks from everyone standing in line as I walk up to the door. Luckily, Jared is right inside, dressed in his tux and his dark hair perfectly coifed.
“Good evening,” he says, taking my purse. It’s going to be hard to pin anything on Chad without physical proof. Maybe I can try to sneak in a hidden camera next time. Jared nods for me to follow him and we go through the door that leads to the sex rooms. Placing his hand on the doorknob, he smiles at me. “You ready?”
I laugh. “I hope so.”
We walk inside and he points to the purple, velvet couch. It’s the same place my co-workers sat when Hunter and I were on stage. “All you have to do is sit here and watch the show. If for some reason you have to leave, just press that blue button,” he says, pointing to it on the wall. “That way, I’ll know to come in and get you.”
I nod. “Thanks. I think I got it.”
He starts toward the door. “Enjoy the show.”
